We are all living in a digital society but what is digital citizenship? Just as we are citizens of a country in which we need to obey the laws and not do anything to harm others, so we are citizens of the digital world and need to ensure that same spirit exists when using the technology available to us. Digital citizenship also means more than behaving responsibly, it also means that we should be engaged in getting accurate information, verifying and sharing this information in a responsible manner, and contributing in a positive way. A good digital citizen has the skills and knowledge to behave appropriately in an online environment and to keep themselves safe by using secure practices at all times.
